Our engineering team used a combination of OET’s performance requirements, HP’s virtualization commitment, HP’s engineering philosophy, HP’s support structure, and OETs management/monitoring requirements in the decision making process.
HCisco
We selected Cisco, the industry leader in network infrastructure, switches and routers. The Cisco switches and enterprise routers support our converged networking core. In addition, we have invested heavily in Cisco’s ASA platform to manage, secure, and protect our perimeter and secure customers’ critical data. Like HP, we felt Cisco was best of breed.
VMWARE
VMware was the technology choice to support OET’s private cloud virtualization strategy. It provides the optimum balance of performance, high availability, management, and operating system flexibility. This technology platform supports our commitment to the private cloud market space because it enables us to seamlessly host numerous, diverse operating system platforms. VMware as a company is committed long term to enhancing performance and providing feature rich additions with each new product release.
F5
F5 technology is the front-runner and one of the final components selected to support OET’s expansion and geographic redundancy. F5 is the clear market leader in load balancing and content management solutions. The market shift towards web services in the past 10 years helped drive OET’s decision to invest and commit to F5. Our customers benefit from site and geographical redundancy partly because of the F5 GTM and LTM solutions.
