Biography
All to know about Jose Almonte
Bio
Jose Almonte has spent over thirty years designing, building, and operating cloud and hosting environments in regulated, high‑accountability industries.
His background spans infrastructure architecture, service delivery, information security, and IT operations, with deep experience supporting regulated environments that demand reliability, security, and audit-ready controls. Over time, Jose developed a reputation as a technical leader who understands not just how systems are built, but how they behave under real operational and regulatory pressure.
Career & Leadership
In 2008, Jose co-founded Outer Edge Technology with Rick Emlet and Jim Heisman to address a gap he saw repeatedly in the market. Infrastructure was often designed for speed or cost first, with compliance and validation treated as follow-on work. That approach created risk. Outer Edge was built to reverse that model by designing infrastructure correctly from the start, with documentation, controls, and operational discipline built in.
Philosophy & Approach
As Co-Founder and CTO, Jose drives the overall technical direction and execution of Outer Edge alongside Rick Emlet and Jim Heisman. His work includes architecting validated hosting environments, implementing GxP-aligned controls, and supporting enterprise systems across life sciences, biotech, pharma, and healthcare. He has led the deployment and operation of environments supporting ERP, MES, LIMS, and clinical trial systems, ensuring they are stable, scalable, and defensible under audit.
Current Focus
Jose builds and leads best-in-class engineering and infrastructure teams, setting clear standards for execution, documentation, and operational discipline across the organization.
Outer Edge Standard
Jose is widely respected for his depth of expertise in IT infrastructure and regulated cloud environments. His role is not theoretical. He is directly involved in building and operating the systems his clients depend on every day.
